LingoBoss ("we", "us") provides website translation software at getlingoboss.com. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain.
1. Information we collect
From our customers (website owners): your email address, a securely hashed password, the domains you add, your language settings, and, once paid plans are available, billing details handled by our payment processor (we never store full card numbers).
From visitors to our customers' websites: to translate a page, the LingoBoss script sends the page's visible text and the chosen language to our servers. We store that text and its translations so they can be shown again quickly. We do not collect visitors' names, emails or other personal details, and we do not use cookies to track visitors. The visitor's chosen language is remembered in their own browser (local storage).
Technical data: like most online services, our hosting provider processes IP addresses and basic request information to deliver and protect the service. We keep error logs for troubleshooting.
2. How we use information
- To provide translations and run your account
- To enforce plan limits and prevent abuse
- To answer support requests and send important service notices
- To improve the service
We do not sell personal information.
3. Service providers
We use trusted providers to run LingoBoss:
- Cloudflare: hosting, database and network (servers worldwide)
- Anthropic: AI translation of website text
- A payment processor (such as Stripe): billing, when paid plans launch
These providers process data on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service. Data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States and Canada.
4. Website owners' responsibilities
If you install LingoBoss on your website, text on your pages is sent to us for translation. Do not mark personal or sensitive information (for example customer account pages) for translation. You can exclude any part of a page with class="notranslate". If your own privacy policy needs to mention translation providers, you may name LingoBoss.
5. Retention
We keep account data while your account is open. Translations are kept so your site stays translated. When you delete a site or your account, we delete its translations within 30 days, except where we must keep records by law (for example billing records).
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under Canada's PIPEDA and the EU/UK GDPR), you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or object to certain uses. Email hello@getlingoboss.com and we will respond within 30 days.
7. Security
Passwords are hashed with a strong one-way algorithm, connections are encrypted (HTTPS), and access to data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Children
LingoBoss is a business service and is not directed at children under 16.
9. Changes
If we make important changes, we will update this page and, for significant changes, notify customers by email.
